iPhone Video
Quick question for iPhone users.

I am thinking of picking one up, I think with its included camera/video capabilities it will be a wonderful tool for my teaching.

In regards to watching video on your iPhone. I have the Alignment Golf DVDs and the Brian Gay Fundamentals video burned on my Mac. I watch them constantly. I know they are large files, but will I be able to transfer them to my iPhone and watch them anytime?

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin, yes this is possible, but you'll have to ensure the videos are converted to a format the iphone can play. I believe the iphone can play H.264 or MPEG-4 encoded videos in .mp4, .mov, or .m4v formats. The videos downloaded from this site are in WMV format, so you'd have to convert them before transferring to your iphone.

I'm really excited about the possibilities of using the iPhone along with my teaching. The iPad may even be better, I'm not sure yet how the iPad will work with video, but it sounds like there may be some wonderful things in the works.

I still use SIM constantly, and LOVE it! I will definitely use hisSIM iPhone app as I really want to try to support the developer. He has done a WONDERFUL job. I only wish he would release the product so we could start paying him for his work...

Thanks AMEN CORNER!

Ben,

Hopefully when the time comes you wouldn't mind a PM asking for ideas if I get stuck?

How about the Alignment Golf DVDs, can they be converted as well?

Thank you Sir!

Kevin

It's possible to convert one video format to just about any other format.

Feel free to PM me for details.

Just a reminder that this is fine for personal use, but please respect all of LBG's hard work and the associated copyrights by not copying and distributing any of our premium video content or DVD's.

Great reminder Ben!

I wouldn't think of it, but I'm sure there are those who forget about the hard work involved, and this type of reminder can never hurt. Salute back at you!

Ben, actually these videos would make wonderful applications for the iPhone store. I would have NO PROBLEM with having to purchase a separate copy for my iPhone as they would be used constantly...

Thanks again,

Kevin

I believe the iPad will be a real multimedia device. It sounds like it would be perfect for your uses.
