Brian told me tonight by phone that Congressional is playing like a U.S. Open, and he was not able to hit anything lower than a 9-iron out of the rough. Sounds like a place where a great driver of the ball could make some serious progress!

Brian Gay finished 3-over for the day and for the tournament, ending T30 and earning $33,420. Congressional was one tough track this week, and he bested 90 of the world's best players in this limited-field, 120-man event. For the week, he was was T10 in GIR (53 of 72 greens hit for an average of 73.61 percent) and T3 in Driving Accuracy (43 of 56 fairways for an average of 76.79 percent). He averaged 275.1 yards off the tee (T72) with a longest drive of 319 yards.
