Sure looked like he has a firm grasp of driving the #3 into the ball. Lot of lag pressure. He hit some amazing long iron shots from difficult places on a tough course along with some booming drives. He is strong and fit. Can he challenge Tiger?

Only if Tiger keeps working with Haney!

Nobody can beat Tiger at his best IMO. We haven't seen that in quite a while though, and who knows if or when he'll be back to the form he had ten years ago.

Camilo was practicing today at the far left-hand side of the range (it's nearest Doral's Blue Monster). As Brian, Kip and I walked off the tee toward the course, BG stopped and chatted briefly with the recently crowned Honda Classic champion:

BG: Nice goin' at the Honda. You're rich!

CV: Even better, I have the trophy! [Pause] Hey, those clothes look good. [Nodding in approval.] Really good, especially the shirt. And the belt looks good, too!

BG: Thanks. Don't like the belt though.

Life on the PGA TOUR.

Gotta love it.

P.S. Check out Camilo's set of alignment markers. And, in BG's bag, our 'old-timey' dowel. Been trying to get him to upgrade to my new flourescent markers, but he likes it. "Easier to see", says he.

Just looks like a couple of kids having a BLAST. That picture was a great way to start the day. Thanks YODA!

That is a great photo of two fine players.

But is it just me or does Camilo's training station seem a little Pelz rail like to the eye? Covering ish.

Naw. Cant be. What ever he is doing is working , thats for sure.

I need to understand some physics, imo.

It seems to me that CV is hitting like crazy with most of his shots.

I realize he is in superb shape but how can any person, by merely extending the right arm effectively produce as much force and drive as the same person would if they used their entire body as an effective counter-weight and catapaulted the ball through swinging?

I have come to this problem personally, on the practice tee. I see it and I can't believe it.

I shoot my impact hands (rigidly locked) down from my hitting position (shorter front leg giving me a boost probably)into the back inside quad of the ball and causes a crack like a hit baseball as it shoots straight out from low to high and then drops. No stress on entire body which I love.

When I pivot and twirl as I understand the swing, the hit has more spin, sounds different, has a little less distance and a more sustained carry through the air.

I would expect a "normal" or like CV, a super biomechanical golfer without my limitations to have better success swinging. I have that computer generated book by Davis Love Jr.s coach and they seem to indicate that the swinger wins.

I feel like a person looking at a hummingbird or bumble bee with his physics book open.

I will however keep knocking the stuffing out of the ball until I get within 100 yards. And then mini hits if I don't knock the approach in the hole!
