Sorry for the second post but understanding Roll vs. Hinge will help you focus on Hinging for the Basic Motion Drill.

Roll is an Accumulator; #3. It accelerates the Sweet-spot from point A to point B. Roll is imparted by the Pivot.

Hinging is the Plane of rotation of the Clubface (around the Sweet-spot). While swinging on the Inclined Plane, the Clubface Rotation can be aligned with the Horizontal, Angled or Vertical Plane. Hinging is Clubface Control.
