Could one of you firefox/mac users please load up the home page (or the page where you see this error) and tell me what you see on your "tools"->"Javascript Console" menu?

golfmachine 01-03-2006 03:04 PM

I have captured 3 pages of js console error messages and would like to attach them to an e-mail to send to you. I do not appear to be able to PM them to you since I don't see how to attach. I could copy and paste them into this thread or if you send me a PM with your e-mail I could send them attached.

A lot of those are firefox CSS "warning" messages...you've got PM

I'm guessing this error is of significance. For interest sake let me know.

Yes, that was a bug, but unfortunately not anything to do with the flash error. However, you should now see a beautifully underlined link when you hover your mouse over the "read this month's column" link on the home page. Thanks!

"golfmachine" sent me his javascript messages and after briefly looking into the error it may be a browser version thing.

Could one of you mac guys who is having problems tell me what version of firefox you're using?

The string I'm intereted in is retrieved by choosing "help"->"About Mozilla Firefox" on the firefox menu. Please post the last couple lines from the resulting dialog. Mine is as follows:

"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5"

If you're not using Firefox 1.5 you may want to try upgrading (http://www.getfirefox.com) to see if your problem goes away.

I have this same problem using safari browser.

golfmachine 01-06-2006 02:10 PM

I checked on a Camino board and received this reply.

Quote:

It's a JavaScript error related to scriptable Flash. There are some open bugs about issues with Flash/JS on OS X, but it sounds like at least some of them are solved in recent versions of the Flash plugin
I will review and possibly upgrade flash on my machine and post whether this helped or not.

edit:Shockwave Flash 8.0 r22 (latest and greatest) makes no difference

I just started having this same error the other day.

It's strange because when I first joined all was fine. It just seems to have crept up lately.

Nice to see other Mac users around, though.
