I thought it might be the standard lag pressure drill where you hit 1 club different distances, but it looked weird to see his drive hit the ground 10 to 20 yards out from his tee. I think if I tried to hit my drive 150 yards, I'd have more carry...maybe not...maybe I'll try it :-)

The problem is that with his current grip, if he goes to fix and has both wedges in place, the clubface would be open. A slight arch to the left wrist is needed, which again tends to an open clubface, and is at best a 'manual' in-swing move. Not bad if your hinge action/swivel is in good shape, and you want to always hit a fade (Hogan), but Tiger often appears to slip back into adding a bit of 'hit' with the right arm, appearing to put his clubface control in his right hand at times to save the shot. Not a big change in his grip, a matter of a slight turn. He tends to setup/grip better with the short irons naturally from what I see. He is fighting alignments, rather than using them to his advantage. |

It seems to me that this has been the crux of his problem forever. He uses that initial rotional speed from his hips and then almost requires the right arm to catch up, that interferes with cf and he manipulates the hands to square the face. It becomes more of an issue with the driver... I think he'd be a huge candidate for TGM... he is analytical as all get out, and if he understood what was actually happening I believe he'd be able to change... instead of adding compensations, which is what he always appears to do. Am I close? |

I think you are all over it. Overacceleration is the menace that stalks all lag and drag. He overloads #4 I think. I think the alignments in his power package look great for Swinging right now. Looks like if he could learn "let" instead of "make" on those driver moves he'd be stanknasty. His move looks better than ever to me right now for swinging anyway. |

Dude - Anybody that plays the muni's shirtless is a cousin. According to the scorecard, Willie Nelsons course outside of Austin allows Thongs only, but since it's restricted to women that rules Bucket out. MikeO has the PVC and grout thing going. Is that what they snort in SoCal these days? Things have changed since I left there. |
