Congratulations Ted Fort...Champion!
Today at Stonemont Golf Club in Stone Mountain, Georgia, the Georgia Section PGA held its annual Marriott Childrens Miracle Network Pro-Am. The tournament is the Section's largest charity Pro-Am, and it this year raised more than $100,000 for childrens' hospitals throughout the state.
The event attracts a field of Georgia's finest golf professionals, and as usual, it takes top-flight golf to win. Today, the winning score was 67. And it was produced by a 'weekend golfer.' Namely, our own... Ted Fort. Congratulations, Ted! 2006 Georgia PGA Teacher of the Year. Champion, Marriott Childrens Miracle Network Pro-Am. And... All-Around Good Guy. You've worked hard, my friend, and you deserve everything that has come your way. I am proud of you! :salut: |
That guy sucks . . . his address position stinks.
Way to go, Ted! |
Ted is one of the good guys. I'm so happy that more and more wonderful things are coming his way.
2006 is just the start. way to go, coach |

Very Nice Master Luke
Looks like someone woke up on plane! Was it a Hogan Tour de Force of 14 fairways and 18 GIRs or did you Crenshaw them to death by making everything you looked at and some you didn't? :eyes: Congratulations on a fine round and nice win!

The Scoring Game

Ted and I talked tonight on his way home, and all I heard was, "The fairways were as narrow as a bowling alley." No matter. His nines were 34-33, so he must have hit a few and made a few! :) We'll find out tomorrow when he logs on! |

P.S. Would you like another Crab Leg???? |
this stuff works
Thanks everybody. It was exciting.
My last three tournament rounds have been under par. Two weeks ago, I had finished my 9th lesson on a Saturday evening, and Yoda had finished teaching his all day'er. He wanted to see me hit a few (something we don't ever get to do). I'm not exaggerating that he spent about ten minutes with me, checking my alignments, etc. Having those green eyes on you any chance you get...priceless. I played one of my matches in the Georgia Match Play Championship two days later. I shot five under on the par fives (eagle, birdie, birdie, birdie) for a two under total. In the stroke play event on the next day, I shot under par. Then, yesterday, I shot the 67 in the charity event. Three consecutive under par rounds in tournaments... For a guy that could shoot an 80 at the drop of a hat B.Y. (before Yoda), I can't tell you how much I appreciate him. |
Congratulations
Congratulations on great play, Ted!
I am sure Yoda is bustin' his buttons also. It is the best reflection on a teacher to have a student excel. |

The putter's been hot, as usual. But, I did miss a 3 footer for birdie on a 170 yard par three. One of my ams putted on the same line, and I thought he yanked the putt to the left. I was surprised when my putt broke out of the hole. No complaints though. You have to take the good with the bad. The fairways were as tight as I believe I've ever played, and they slope from right/left or left/right. Landing in the middle of the fairway, doesn't mean it will stay there. |

Great Round! But could you wipe the butter off of your face from yesterday's crab leg- OR go live with Bucket! |
Fortuitious
Great round Ted. Nice combination; teacher and player all in one. Forgot, husband and father. Where do you find the time?
|
Congrats Ted - no surprise to me you did so well on a tough driving course, amazing how straight your ball flies.
Perhaps you can take a few days off from teaching and give tour school a shot? ;) |

Ted's victory is a huge accomplishment, and it deserves to be recognized as such. |
Ted Fort is the Man!!!
Congratulations Ted!!!!!
This a well deserved win for a great professional. You guys don't realize how much Ted does, I really do wonder if Ted ever sleeps. He is one of the best ball strikers and putters in the section. He spends 8 to 10 hours on the lesson tee 5 days a week in season, and he's an incredible Mentor. Ted and I talked the night before he went to play at Stone Mountain and I told him to go win it because it was narrow and it set up for him, so he did. We've been playing phone tag because since his win he's been teaching as have I. However I can't wait to hear what the round "felt" like. Ted you've been an awesome Mentor to me this year helping me with my HIT, teaching FORTIFIED SHORT GAME schools together, and giving me advice on all sorts of things. As any Mentor Student relationship goes, I can't wait to give your game a run when we play in the same event Monday and Tuesday. Sorting Through the Instructors Textbook and Circuit Players Handbook. B-Ray P.S. Maybe Ted's proving you can be a great player and teacher, in the past I was told you could only be one or the other. |
Congrats...Ted...
That is some 'Great Golf'. Everytime your name pops up, I still get the image of you from when I was at the swamp. Yoda was describing what he was going to do and there stood Ted with a club in his hands making small back and forth motions (1 foot or so), practicing the alignments at Impact Fix. At that time it look like it was auotmatic for him, place a club in his hands and boom, motion starts. Great Going... You all just have to love it, seeing a plan come together. |
