LBG Homecoming Classic
Philly,
I find it interesting that as soon as bucket started to post a lot, you disappeared:confused1 Have the two of you ever been seen together? glad to see you back around, hows the game? Let's try to get together again. todd |
Reunion: Advanced Clinic
I was thinking about what would make a great location for an LBG Clinic Reunion.
I'm asking this question on Buckets FORUM because he can hook-up to the INTERNET at the local KFC. His wife got another "restraining order" so with the free time on his hands, he'll be spending a lot of time there. I was thinking South Carolina? It seems to be the Golf Resort Capital. But I don't know anything about SC so I don't know if it's a place that other Golfers would like to go. Since this would be a reunion of previous students, I suspect the subject content to move toward the complex and theoretical. And since Bucket can't participate in the advanced format he could become the event Hostess, so he can host the Site Selection Forum too. It may be too late for a Spring/Summer session but a Fall Session may allow enough time to schedule the group and the weather down South should be more cooperative. Should "down South" Be capitalized? :laughing9 Any Ideas? Comments are welcomed and appreciated. |
LBG Homecoming Classic -- To Horse!

Chuck Evans and I held a very successful school there in 2004, and I'm sure she would welcome us back. http://www.lynnblakegolf.com/gallery...ry.php?cat=505 Thanks to 6bMike for these photos. If we decide to make a weekend of it, we might even slip over next door and have a go at Pinehurst #2. :notworthy Best of all -- maybe worse of all :( :laughing9 -- we're near Bucket's home turf (sorry, Mike O! :hang: ). The saving grace is that we will may be able to lure into our midst Golf Stroke Impresarrio Eddie Cox and budding teaching superstar, David Orr. Both attended the 2004 hap'nin and are NC residents. In any event, a 'down home' barbeque and a 'close encounters of the third kind' is definitely a possibility! The 'been there, done that" LBG hats and bag tags are on me . . . Let's do it! :3gears: |
I've seen the pictures from that event and it looks like a great place. I'm in for sure. And it's easy to get there.
Certainly, the turn-out will be sensational. I would really like to meet everyone and see old friends again. It's odd that Bucket lives in "Golf Mecca" and he doesn't play Golf. :laughing9 |
Count me in as long as its in the fall. Pretty busy, as we all are, thru the summer.

For 'the rest of us', know that Allan gives more than 2,000 lessons per year and was named the Instructor of the Year 2004-2007 at one of the busiest golf ranges in the country, Chelsea Piers in downtown Manhattan, New York City, NY. He was an attendee at our December 2006 LBG Academy for Professionals at Hombre Golf Club in Panama City, Florida. So, when Allan says "busy", he means busy! http://www.chelseapiers.com/gcAcadPros.cfm |

Always a pleasure!!! For anyone that doesnt know MBC - a great guy - and in the Birmingham area. Well versed in TGM and rarely posts. Todd, please forgive me, but I must...... A long long time ago, there was this little itty bitty forum. It was bad. Real bad. Chuck Evans ran it - thank God there was something. Anyways,it was basically me, some dude named ecox and golfingrandy. We kept it going for a year or so, then it evolved - golfopinions.com, then freegolfinfo, then tgm forum. Do I feel I helped take TGM off, yes I do. And I hope they feel the same. There was 5 of us - there was more I am missing - but we all posted. I am talking way back when the only other forum was David Laville's....I mean, TGM wasnt a pimple on anyones butt. And I owe a ton to all of them - Chuck, MBC, Ecox, Randy - they were the gateway to my learning. Then, someone else joined the fray on TGM forum - and, you know him - I have spent countless hours with him on the phone - he, in my opinion is one of the 2 most knowledgable people in the world for TGM - then went to I believe 3 AI classes - and saw Lynn in his debut back. Sorry - didnt mean to go this way, but MBC got me going. MBC - always a pleasure my friend - lets talk soon. Patrick |
Well Alright!!!!!!!!
Sounds like things are starting look up around here!!! |
One other quick note.
On Lynns homepage - the picture - I was there and am not in it. Why? Cause I was the one laying on the grass about 3 feet in front of him. Why isnt 6B in it? Cause he was the one behind the camera. Seems like decades. |
I'm in.
Just one question-is it safe to sleep in NC within "range"of Bucket? .Do I need to bring the garlic?8-[ |

But, I drew the short straw at the Falcon's Fire school. I got to room with Bucket. It shows you the influence that I have in the LBG organization, doesn't it? :crybaby: I would have sworn he was wearing a sweater to bed. Or, he had all the hair on his head transplanted to his back. I thought it was an unusual request when Bucket, bald as a cue ball, asked to borrow my shampoo. The new bottle was almost empty when I got it back. Then, I heard the hair dryer running for 30 minutes. I was always a creationist and never believed in Darwin's theory of evolution, because there are so many missing links. But, I believe Bucket may fill in some of the blank spots. |
At least one Hitter, again.

Count me in.....I can drop the little one off at grandpa's in Cary on the way down.

Last time I talked to Marc Nichols who came to Falcon's Fire, he was ready for any upcoming school. If you can't have fun with him, you're a stick in the mud.

LBG Homecoming Classic
Pretty good list so far:
Daryl Neil Alrenz EdZ Bucket Yodasluke Yoda I'll get out the scheduling pen next week and call the good folks at Pine Needles. We definitely want late summer-early fall (as I recall, the rate escalates pretty good right in there), but we also want to avoid conflict with tournament schedules (certain PGA TOUR and Sectional events) and back-to-school days. We won't be able to accomodate everybody's preferences, but I want to come as close as possible. What do you guys want to see in terms of format? Please, start with breakfast and go through an after-dinner G.O.L.F. event. |

I was always fond of the normal format: Meat for Breakfast, Empty the Bottle late at night and 24 hours of G.O.L.F. in between. Repeat three times. :) |

:eyes: You did indeed do much of the 'heavy lifting' during that crucial period when TGM was earning its spurs in cyberspace. Including, I might add, educating me about the 'lay of the land' -- the various sites and posting personalities -- that populated this corner of the world. I had been away from golf for 20 years and knew absolutely nothing of the various golf websites, much less this funky thing called 'posting'. I, for one, am grateful for the many thankless hours you put in establishing the basecamp and keeping things humming along the way. It's now been four years since my first posts on the old TGM site run by you and Randy. By then, Chuck had already started his own site (with Randy as Admin), and I was to learn of it a couple of weeks later. I posted on both sites until Bagger, Trig and I formed this site almost exactly one year later. By the grace of God, Bambam appeared during that first year, and the rest, as they say, is history. It was Mike O who called out of the blue in December 2003 and told me about the TGM site. I logged on for the first time (and made my first post) on January 11, 2004. Ironically, I would later discover that this was 22 years to the day from when I stepped off the airplane in Seattle, Washington and came face to face with Homer Kelley. In one sense, it seems all this happened only yesterday, and in another, a lifetime ago. In fact, for me, it has been a lifetime, because mine has so radically changed since then. Who'da ever thunk it? :salut: |

Start working on your boss now. :headbang: Your Frequent Yoda Miles account is heavy-laden, and I will personally spring for your roundtrip airline tickets from SoCal to God's Country! The barbeque is on Bucket. Or maybe the barbeque is Bucket. I won't eat until I see him in line! You guys are too much . . . I just check in from time to time! Thanks for everything, Mike. See you in North Carolina! :occasion: |
