Signed 3rd Edition for sale
Fellow TGM'ers,
Due to various circumstances, I am announcing the sale of my prized 3rd edition that was signed by Mr. Kelley. Inside cover is exactly (minus the italics) as follows: To Fitzhugh Greene, Happier Golfing! Homer Kelley -------- Compliments of E.P. Garrett" Again, signed 3rd edition. Excellent condition. Binding entirely intact, no pages written on (except the inside cover with signature), with yellow jacket in good condition (book cover itself is green). I haven't put this out on ebay yet only because I, being a TGM'er myself, would prefer to give true TGM fans - those with the same affliction as me - 'first shot'. If necessary, I will put it on ebay..but again, that would open bidding to anyone and I would like this to land in the hands of true TGM'ers. Please email me at tgmnut@yahoo.com with any questions, bids, etc. The bidding will be open only via email. Of course, pictures of the signature and edition year will be mailed. I do have a price in my mind, and if not met, most likely will not sell it. Please only serious inquiries only (serious meaning $500 minimum). I will check back tommorrow to gauge interest. Thanks, Phillygolf. |

Nice
Nice book, and thank you for clarifying what "serious" represents.
UPP in seriously stunning Ohio |
Supply and Demand
The third edition is the scarest edition to locate, even for those that are associated will golf collectors. IMO, $500 would be the going rate for an "autographed" 3rd edition.

Patrick, I E-mailed you.

This is from a PM I sent last week in response to finding missing editions and their value:
The seven editions all vary in price with the first three being by far the most expensive. However, the third edition seems to be the most rare of the first three. Estimated Value (based on the collectors I deal with) depending upon condition of the book: 1st $100-$300 2nd $100-$200 3rd $100-$500 4th $50-$85 5th $60-$90 6th $35 7th $35 The value increases, especially in the first edition, if signed by Mr. Kelley. |
My First Edition
Quote:
Finally came the day when I went to the mailbox and discovered his 'care package.' I stripped away the envelope and wrapping, and there it was: the First Edition. Alas, as was so characteristic of his humble nature, he didn't sign it. But he did include an invoice in his own hand dated December 6, 1982, clearly stating the contents: "1 Copy 1st Edition"And the price... "$7.50."At the bottom of the invoice he penned this note: "In putting the 6th edition material in storage I gathered up everything and put the archives in order. I found it pretty bare, but not empty. Have fun. What is this combination of book and personalized invoice worth today? Who knows? Who cares? It belongs to me, and I ain't sellin'. The memory I share with you. :) |
Gentlemen,
Thank you everyone for your emails. Shop is now closed. Keep your eyes open, I may have some more goodies for sale (2nd edition, 5th edition). Thanks again, Patrick |
