Impact/Special Fix

I have Chuck's Ebook and I've switched my setup to what he teaches. With my hands ahead of the ball more I've been striking the ball much better. I understand that the way the Ebook teaches, this is called "special" fix. What's the difference between this and impact fix. Pros and cons for both. Thanks

Was it that bad of a question?

I don't have the benefit of Chuck's ebook.... so I just can't comment. I suspect many others suffer from the same disadvantage.

I believe that Special Fix is simply setting your body or hands in impact position and returning the other to adjusted address. I don't have the book right in front of me so I'm not completely sure if it applies to just the hands or just the pivot.

This is different from regular Impact Fix because it only pre-sets either the pivot or the hands whereas full Impact Fix pre-sets everything in their respective impact alignments.

Fix: Impact Versus Special

Standard Fix (10-8-A) features a "comparatively squared away" Body position. Special Fix (10-8-B) maintains the On Plane Impact alignments of the Power Package, but features an "'Open' alignment of the entire Body" (not just an Open Stance). The late Sam Snead's 'side saddle' Putting Stance was an extreme of this Variation.

Hitting or Swinging, Standard Fix is normally preferred, but Special Fix is extremely useful with Short Shots (for restricting the Backstroke and promoting On Line Motion through the Ball).

There have been other recent posts in this same general area.

As I read 7-8 and 10-8-0, for Impact Fix the hands and the body are both in the Impact location. The three classifications listed at 10-8-0 appear to have the hands at impact but not the body, which suggests that IMPACT is another classification.

THE FIX is a machine preparation or address engineering component. I read Fix in the context of the player fixing in the mind what is to be achieved at Impact, especially the hands. Mr. Kelley writes in 7-8 that precision alignment of the hands can only be taken in the Impact location.

From 3-F-5-3 and 12-3-0 there is much to be learned about address as it relates to the total motion

There are several posts recently with pics DTL of various pros at impact. I think annikan posted them? Try a quick search. Otherwise you can check out redgoats site here:
