So, Ted what is the scoop on this device?

Also listed Rob Noel - as his web site explains- "Rob is a G.S.E.M. Authorized Instructor of The Golfing Machine by Homer Kelly and has also been a member of the PGA of America since 1989."

He has two other AIs on his staff. He is an Louisiana- Manzella country.

How is that any different than the PVC version that has been out for some time?

(aside from being twice the price, and harder to ship)

The adjustable Plane Board is a little more sturdy than the PVC ring. A fairly heavy rolling pin type device with a grip attached... is used to roll up and down the plane.

That thing is just like the PVC one 20 years ago. May be more easy to use, but what's the difference?

The main difference is the fin on the top and keeping the entire roller on the fin, old pvc you could have one point of shaft in contact with pvc and be well off plane. Explanar is very useful from 9:00 position on back stroke to followthough.
It has some challenges as far as plane shifts, and longitudinal acceleration, sequenced release, but it has many benefits.

The Explanar is like any other teaching aid. It is good for some situations but not for others. I use it primarily to develop a golf like motion for new golfers--Basic Motion Curriculum per 12-5-0 first paragraph CONTINUOUS

It took me a while to figure out the shift but it does have one. If the Explanar is set up on the Turned Shoulder Plane and the hands are set up on the Elbow Plane the shift will occur on the way to the top. There is still nothing like the good old 8' x 8' plane board.

Although good for some things, it does not provide the precision that we demand in TGM.
