Hip sequencing
I made the following graphic quite a while ago. May not be 100% spot on, but it is more or less ok.
Only now am trying to drop my current hip action forever & move to 10-14-B. Interestingly it has made me realize that my current - sorry PREVIOUS :) - hip action has neither been well synchronized nor well sequenced with the rest of me. Guess I've been speeding my hips far too much and "fixed it" by bending the plane line & playing a pull, although I do not really care about what I used to do at this point. Moving on. As everyone making changes I am struggling a bit with letting a new feel (based on new mechanics) replacing my old feel. (New mechanics. New feel). I am doing what I feel is sensible. Hitting lots of pitches on the range in order to get used to a new feel. I am doing ok, but the big thing is to upgrade to full swing while avoiding those hips to fire early. Any comment on how to practice efficeinetly in order to rid fast hips (or sequence them better) are VERY welcome. ![]() |
Great visual
Very nice visual. Thank you.
I would hope Lynn, Ted, et al would expound using this sort of tool as it would be easy to pinpoint small differences and details. I can visualize hip and shoulder movement, spine movement, as well as plane analysis. What software did you use to create this? UPP in steamy Ohio |

![]() The image is "handcrafted" :-) . I used JASC (now Corel) Paint Shot Pro to create each individual image. Then JASC Animation Shop to create the sequence, add frame timing and burn the animated GIF. The entire process (from empty hands & brain to posted animation) probably took an hour, so more efficient production procedures would be required to do substantially more of this. There are better & more efficient ways, but the Jasc SW was what I had at the time. I wanted an animated GIF as they are suitable for posting. The drawback is basically all the limitations compared to Flash, video etc etc. As Disney never calls me anyway: Now back to hip sequencing. :) :golf: |

Anyway I am sticking to this and hope to see the new sensations ingrained. Any other confirmations that I am on the right track or other descriptions are very welcome. |
I have worked hard on this issue .At the Falcons Fire Academy Ted and Jeff got me feeling more arms than Pivot.
Trace the plane line, feel the pressure point down and out -you will probably be surprised what your hips do. Just a comment on the graphic-do you really want the slide back?(to the right). To me, this could be a problem.:sunny: |
