endless belt effect
 

Can anyone help explain the endless belt effect... im havin a hard time with this one!!!!

The hands roll in a small circle (release) as the clubhead travels (obits) in a much larger circle (clubhead path) at the same rpms (rotation rate = rhythm) which increases the surface speed of the obit traveling clubhead therefore increasing power. Faster clubhead speed is a plus, no?

Ever see a line of ice skaters moving in a circel from a center point? The inside skate bearly moves- just spins in place (small circle) as the outside skater goes like a bat out of 4ell (large circle). Their surface speed must increase to stay with the RPMs of the line.

Just to add an additional thought, consider the belt as an illustration of the hands moving from the Top of the swing through impact. Note that the hands are not moving themselves - they are being moved (by your Pivot). Note also that the clubhead speeds up while the hands remain at a constant speed.

In an actual swing, the hands will be slowing down as they reach the impact position, but the point is you should not be trying to speed up or slow down the hands - as that will be a jerky and disruptive motion. Just keep rotating and let your pivot provide the hand speed.
