Thanks for this, Mike. I hadn't seen it. 'The guys' have been skipping the ball over the water on 16 in practice rounds at Augusta ever since I can remember (and, no doubt, long before). But I never heard of someone actually making it until now.

Sir Barnes Wallis, who designed the R100 airship and the bouncing bomb which was used to breach two Ruhr Valley dams during the Second World War, lived for over 40 years in a home which overlooked the 17th fairway at Effingham Golf Links. The bomb itself was spherical and dimpled. I dont think it was painted white but it does make one wonder about what his inspiration might have been?

About a month ago, I gave a Callaway Tour ball to a
friend. I said this ball will really bite. On the
first three par the guy used the ball, first time,
and knocked it past the pin and it backed up into
the hole.
