Its all just handpath you ignoramus.....

God I feel like an idiot.

I truly feel like the guy who's lawn mower doesn't start so he takes it apart without checking for gas.

I have been struggling with an over the top move for months now and could no figure out why.

So tonight I'm practicing my start down waggle and find that I have been doing it horribly wrong for quite some time. I was literally doing a start down waggle that had my hands over plane the entire time and for some reason I did not catch it until just now.

So tonight I waggled focusing on making sure that as my hands pass the ball they are well inside the ball towards my feet where the hand path should be.

All the sudden my hands and right forearm are perfectly on plane at impact, I have a deeper right shoulder, and the flying wedges are looking drastically better.

All from EDUCATING THE DAMN HANDS and letting everything else stay out of the way.

So did you hit any balls or ....... ?

Hmm, Grant likes the "Elbow Plane".

I'll post a video tonight and see what you think.

I don't believe its elbow plane per se.

Everything seems to be passing slightly under the TSP on the way down to the ball.

After all the dumb stuff I've done with a golf swing over the years, yours looks very good. Hands to Pivot look good from my perspective and your right elbow appears pretty good as well, if that's what you were asking.
It looks like a nice spot to practice there in the garage, Grant. When I had the shanks your right side door would have been heavily damaged. I would have had to move any breakables as well.

I've had the shanks lately as well and had to fix some holes in the wall in the garage.

Luckily I haven't had a ball hit a camera or computer yet though.

Shanks seem to have gone away now though.

If it's any comfort Grant...

I have 3 graduate degrees, read 4 languages, and have been studying TGM daily since March, 2010, AND I JUST FIGURED IT OUT READING YOUR POST! :crybaby:

Grant,
Thanks much. I neeeded that.

Hi Grant,

Looking at the last video;

I still think there's an OTT tendency in your swing. Not with regards to plane and external references, but with regards to your shoulder turn.

You're dipping your right shoulder through impact - pretty much like Paula Creamer. She gets away with it (at least she did last week), but it is not the best way. You should be dipping it during transition instead. Hip forward & right shoulder down. The hands will follow. Then turn through.

If dipping is problematic for you, you need a flatter swing plane.
