In this video when Yoda talks about the hitter - he says "He cranks". (0.45) What does that mean?

I think Yoda is referring to the fact that for the hitter there is a slight holding back of the right shoulder as the hips slide. This momentary pause allows the right arm to drive off the right shoulder and then thrust towards the ball.
I am not a hitter but that that is what I got from the video.

Thx

Does that mean that "krank" means "holding back"? It's the word "krank" I don't know. I have tried to look it up, but I didn't find out what it means.

No it doesn't. The word you are looking for is crank.

Crank - Noun
A device for transmitting rotary motion, consisting of a handle or arm attached at right angles to a shaft.

For me it sounds like Yoda says: "He cranks" (about the hitter). So here it must be a verb.

How would you in your own words (from what we now know) best describe what he is saying when he uses the frase "He cranks" about the hitter - contrary to the swinger.
(Or have you already explained it in your first post? #2).

It resembels the German frase:

Er ist krank.

But it certainly doesn't mean the same.

Nice one Alex. To crank , to transmit rotary motion.......sounds like Radial Acceleration to my ears, I dunno.

"Consisting of a handle or arm attached at right angles to a shaft"........Homer would love that. Im thinking it attaches at the #1 p.p.

Again, Im thinking Lynn is talking Drive Loading vs Drag Loading here. 12-1 vs 12-2. The Right Shoulder as Launching Pad. One (very important) form of the 3 types of 3 Accumulator Hitting.

4 Accumulator Hitting would have the Right Shoulder moving through the shot......doing some "work" as opposed to the "motion" inherent in Drive Loading.

I believe Lynn explains it immediately after he uses the phrase. Keeping the shoulders back while the hips slide.
