:)

Jazz great Joe Gransden was recently featured in a 9-page spread in Lakelife, the major magazine published in the Lake Oconee (GA) area. http://kjcom.net/?p=187 [None of the many published photos are in the link.]

I had to write:
Kim Jackson’s feature on the mega-talented trumpeter and singer Joe Gransden (Lakelife Winter 2011) truly captured the spirit of the man and his music. I’ve attended jazz performances and concerts all over the world, and I’ve never heard an artist more expressive and true to his idiom.

Whether the tune is a mellow Summertime or a hyper-paced Cherokee, he is always exciting and a delight to hear. Actually, over an evening, you don’t just listen to Joe, you become one with his art.

I’m also proud to say that he’s my student at the Lynn Blake Golf Academy at Cuscowilla. Opponents beware: Joe moves as gracefully through a golf ball as he does through his music!

I'll bet Mr. Grandsen can teach you a thing or two about RHYTHM! :-)

City,
I was just reading one of your earlier threads and Kev was saying something about not being too fast. Listen to this guy's rendition of "Valentine" and practice with it in your head. It is just about the right tempo for doing some nice, easy Basic Motion. Be sure to give just the slightest accelerondo past the ball.

Thanks for the tunes, Yoda. I'm diggin' the instrumentalists as well.

That's Joe Gransden's voice and horn, Jerry. At the Ritz on Lake Oconee and parts 'round metro Atlanta, he most often plays with a trio. Neil Starkey on bass is always terrific. And Tom Hayden on piano . . . fuggeddaboudit!

Three instruments.

Four, including Joe's voice.

And all acoustic.

For those who love The Jazz Sound, it just doesn't get any better!

I listened to the complete thing last night. Very classy and highly polished performances. Now I need to make a couple purchases. Great stuff.
Thanks for sharing with us.
Had a lovely time with KevCarter today comparing alignments.
