You control the clubface indirectly by feeling the center of mass of the instrument i.e. the sweetspot and its relationship to the ball and target.

Not the left wrist.

You sense the longitudinal center of mass of the golf club - there is no way to sense clubface loft. hence you can't feel where the face is actually pointing but you can sense if the face is open or closed via the center of mass relationship to the motion.
