Caught a little of TGC Academy Live last night. They had Matt Killen (Kenny Perry's 20 year old coach). He actually stressed the "flat left wrist, bent right wrist" as a key component in a good swing! He even drew lines on Kenny's hands at impact to show it. Went through a version of the basic chip motion as a drill to ingrain that feeling.
Seems like a good young teacher. It's always nice to see some of the TGM fundamentals highlighted in one of these shows.

I caught the first part of the show and will watch the rest later.
I agree, it is nice to see more and more evidence of TGM on TGC. The momentum has been building for some time now.
Flat left, bent right, lag and basic motion. Chips and punch shots too.
Yet still no real PUBLIC credit to HOMER KELLY.
Why not?
Reminds me of Rocky and Bullwinkle....
"Hey Rocky..... watch me pull a RABBIT out of a hat"
Or was that Lenny..... "tell me about the rabbit George"
"During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act." -- George Orwell
Credit where it is due folks..... the time is now.
I agree Ed. I was leaning forward watching the screen waiting for the words "The Golfing Machine" or the name "Homer Kelly" to be mentioned, but it never happened.
I think he even referred to Kenny's motion as "his procedure"!
Could be a coincidence but I've never heard someone who wasn't versed in TGM call a motion "a procedure".
He was seemingly very composed for a 21 year old on national TV. He may have been extremely nervous, and the time to mention Homer and book may never have presented itself.
He has publicly stated that he studied the Golfing Machine.
He also sounds like he knows the Laws book, also.
I say give the kid a break, and give him some time. He's only 21! What were you doing at 21?

I was puttin' fake turds on crowded elevators drunk on Boone's Farm Wild Island. I wasn't no Golfing Machine . . . but I was the DORK MACHINE!!!

Wolf,
Not trying to get on him - I thought it was one of the better Academy Live shows I've seen. And he seemed FAR from nervous. I was pretty impressed by his composure as well and was surpised when they said he was 21 and still in college.
I just think there is a general frustration on the part of those who study and believe TGM that it rarely gets any props on the largest of stages (i.e television). Regardless, it was nice to see a teacher mention some of the "imperatives" instead of the usual cookie-cutter "here's how you fix your slice" that you get on that show.

Not knocking him one bit, I thought he did a wonderful job!
Hey Matt - what's your screenname

Oh, performing with country stars like Randy Travis...oh, I was 22.
