My new Iclub

Also, please ask what needs to be done to set up the iClub to use on different clubs in a set, and what needs to be done to move it to a different set of irons. In other words, what measurements need to be made on each club and then entered into the software.

Finally, ask him how accurate placement is when you move it from club to club, and therefore, how accurate are the readouts for any given swing.
I met with the national sales manager for Iclub.

The Iclub (wireless) can be set to any of your clubs including the putter. It is adjustable to the butt of the grip. You enter which club you use on your labtop with the software which is included in the package. The laptop has to be within 100 meters of the Iclub to work.

The funny thing was, you align the iclub in line with the clubface as close as possible. If you don't do it exact, it take that into account and corrects itself (MIT Scientists at work).

I put it on my putter. I hit two putts from 15 feet (made both), but I tried to trick the Iclub using to different strokes with different accelerations. It pick up the difference and showed me the exact differernces in numbers and with graphic overlays (from any angle you want). It measured clubhead speed, path, face angle.....

The vest is pricey and is based on the X-factor. It is much more beneficial to the Swinger than the Hitter IMO. I passed on the vest, but did order the Iclub. Suggested retail for the Iclub $750 (probably will sell for $599).

The Iclub-e which is permanantly put in the club was not recomended by the sales rep because of the accuracy and adaptablity of the moveable regular model.

Clublag could probably fill you in on all the different applications. I need a chance to use it before I put it into use during a lesson.

Assumptions
Thanks for the info, Drew. Sounds good. A couple of questions for you. Would the iClub fit on non-round putter grips? How about jumbo, oversize grips on irons or woods?

One thing to watch out for based on my SmartSwing experience. You mentioned:

To be able to "correct itself," I would venture to guess the device ASSUMES you address the ball with a square clubface. Most of us probably do, but I know a couple golfers who address the ball with the club well behind the ball and with a slightly open clubface. I'm wondering if such a setup might give the iClub some trouble knowing exactly where "square" is?

iclub guys
Sorry for not replying to the last few posts. I live in the New Orleans area and my Golf Studio and Golf Course have been devastated by the hurricane. It will be weeks until I can teach again. Not much need for golf lessons with all this devastation around. Kind of puts into prospective what we do for a living. I will say that my iclub Vest, Video Cameras, Vector Launch monitor, and Golf Machine Book were some of the valuable things I brought with me when we fled New Orleans.
Kind of sick Huh!
