I wanted to make me one of dem golfers flails. It seems to be a simple structure, but I lost a nail the last time I used a hammer! Does anyone have top secret blueprints for such a device?
Use a wing nut, bolt and a few washers instead of a nail. Simply follow the pictures in 2-K#4 and #5 of the sixth edition, not the seventh. The editor of the seventh edition forgot to put in where the bolt (Hinge Pin Left Wrist) goes. It is one of the cheapest, most effective training aids you will ever have. I use it with EVERY student that I teach.
Use 1 1/2" X 3/4" wood with the Left arm portion measuring 20" and the swingle measuring 36". I also put a bolt in the swingle to allow it to only go to the "Level" condition, unless I loosen the bolt to allow it to go fully "Uncocked".
Thanks Drew. Is there a more important visual in golf? Yoda using one of those opened my eyes to:
1. Flat and level left wrist
2. #2 (velocity) power accumulator
3. #3 (rotational/transfer) power accumulator
4. False feel hand and wrist action
5. Sequenced release
6. Accumulator lag
Of course Yoda does this just as well with dowels!

7. Where the center of your universe (Hinge Pin in the Left Shoulder) is located and how 1-6 (forgeting #4)the Lever Assembly moves arround it.
With a little imagination we can also include:
8. Hinge Action
9. Rhythm
10. Educated Hands
11. the list goes on and on...
May I add my lasting memory from Yoda's demonstration?
12. Release triggers. The Throws. (How the Right Arm uncocks #2 for the hitter)
This would make for a good video, would it not. I taped Yoda showing all of this last year but the audio is n.g. due to wind noise. Drew when are you going to start posting videos?

Okie please expand on 4. False feel hand and wrist action. Is this a Swivel through impact vs Hinge through impact thing?
That is part of it. I am still waiting for the incubator to spit some more out concerning hinge action. In this case, however, it was more about understanding the golfer's tendency to flatten the right wrist in an attempt to "help" the uncocking left wrist. The old horizontal when only a vertical uncocking motion will do! Like millions I got the clubhead through with a bending left wrist. Good speed, but fleeting clubface alignment. Making the distinction between wrist action and hand action is what I was referring to. Funny thing, at first I seemed to lose club head speed. I thought it was a precision for power ratio adjustment! Then...I learned (OK I am still learning) how to transfer the velocity! Hitting appealed for a while because of the simultaneous release. But I now enjoy the dinstinctive nature of the sequenced release! Hayah!
I am studying triggers at the moment. You are absolutely right on the uses, Drew. A couple of pieces of wood and a length of nylon rope can turn the Trojan horse of conventional instruction into kindling!
Whats a video? I am lucky just to turn on a computer and find this website. I posted my first picture the other day (Bucket with a coffee cup) and almost got a cramp.
I liked that photo of Bucket. Until I realized it was a fake. Like where's the green slaw Dude? What about the Kentucky Cornel outfit? The black bow tie? The sheep? That is not Bucket!
Why not share the wealth of your knowledge in video? You dont need a slick production or anything, just a camera and an appropriate topic (of which you have many, I sure).
