Does the towel drill preclude blast off? Sure looks like it. Hmmm..... that'd be like preferring a 3 speed bike to a four speed wouldnt it? A loss of a lever. The hands only going as fast as the pivot can carry them? And what about the left shoulder as the center of the arm swing? Would the swing motion stay centered on the pivot center? That'd shorten the radius wouldn't it?

Thanks OB. I left that Dave Ledbetter/Faldo towel long ago and now that I can drive to Both Arms Straight through impact, why would I give up such power and control, power and precision?
I'm not saying I'm a better golfer than these folks, but I think I know something they have not fully appreciated that would make them even better.

These drills keep the upper arms close to the body while still encouraging a free Arm Swing. They can also be done while encouraging the upper arm structure of Extensor Action.
In my opinion, the 'under-arms towel drill' encourages incorrect, compressing (as opposed to stretching), upper arm pressures. In turn, this almost always produces a 'Body-controlled Hands' Stroke that:
(1) Inhibits the Arm Swing;
(2) Prevents a free 'overtaking' of the Body (by the Arms and Club) during Release; and
(3) Causes both the Hands and Club to be under plane in the Start Up, above Plane at the Top and through Impact, and again under Plane in the Follow-Through.

I'll never forget the section on the towel drill in ALIGNMENT GOLF. You said VJ was the only person you had seen do it correctly. The towel fell out at about low point. LOVED it!!! So many great concepts explained in that "tape."

I put this thread in the lounge because it "is-what-it-is"
There are a series of about 6 clips that were posted online together- all have "some"
The first here is because I have watched Alignment Golf enough to know the immediate reaction.
The second because of the amalgamated wrist motions of cocking and chopping right and not seeing any defined stroke pattern- Be your own eyes.
There is also quandary in the other clips- seek um' out.

Thanks for the clarity which encourages serenity, "Oh, that makes sense!"

Thanks city. Someone else who appreciates my synergy.
U'a lost one of my Smilies. Glad that didn't break-up the serenity.
HB-
They wouldn't let me post 8 smiles. I thought for a 1000 post guy they might increase my smile count and give me the balloons.
I think I'll get the decoder ring in April and the Waffle House napkins with the real grease, but maybe I have to do 2000 posts to get the balloons. I have to make shorter posts anyway so....
Bambam is no joke. He has serious skills and he's everywhere!
