Interestingly, also in the current tie for third is Heath Slocum. Heath is a student of our good friend, Mark Blackburn, GSEB, at Guntersville Golf Club in Gunters, Alabama. An LBG 'hats off' to both of them as well.
On the 557-yard, Par 5 17th, John's just ripped it 320 yards up the left side. He's got a perfect angle in from 218 yards. For him, probably a 5-iron (no more than a 4-iron) to be on in two.
John hit that shot 218 yards to three feet. We talked this afternoon, and I asked him what he hit.
"6-Iron."
"6-Iron?! How in the world do you hit a 6-Iron 218 yards?"

"Well, I was a little downwind."
Of course.
That's hilarious Yoda. Way to go John, it was a pleasure reading Yoda's hole-by-hole commentary of a fantastic round. I hope this is just the jump-off you need to get this year rolling. We are all stoked, keep up the great work!
Congrats, John on putting together a super tournament. It must feel really good to really put it together for four straight runs. Now that you got us spoiled on seeing how good you can play we'll be expecting more great golf from you. Keep up the great work and I for one will be pulling for you to do well the rest of the year.
