For that, all of us here (and those who will follow behind us) thank you and your family. We owe you SO much.

Thanks for this insight, broberts.

This is how I remember Tommy teaching the Start Down Move (which, of course, is how it really works). In fact, this is precisely The Magic Move Harvey Penick taught in his now famous Little Red Book (page 96):
"To start your downswing, let your weight shift to your left foot while bringing your right elbow back down to your body."
There is a big difference between your recollection of Tommy's advice to "pull down as you shift" and DG's steadfast demand that we uncock the right elbow from the top and in advance of any lower body action.

P.S. And this would be my Post #7,000. Thanks for reading, everybody!

It's a shame the 7000th post is filled with incorrect details.

Understood, Dave. We've had many a battle these past few years, and I've never once regretted our encounters. Because of you, all LBG readers have benefitted from Tommy Tomasello's teachings and our respective points of view. That is all that matters.

Thank you, my friend, for your many posts and all you have done to preserve and promote Tommy's legacy.

Amen to that. Discussions may be heated, points of view seemingly worlds apart, but at the end of the day we all share the same passion for the game.

There is a difference between what a teacher might say to another teacher and what that same teacher might say to a student. The first is more theoretical while the latter is at the very least partially diagnostic.

Remember that TT taught in an era of lateral knee thrust! A pivot to hands era.

DG, I have a feeling you are maybe like a lot of us 1970's and '80's golf theory survivors..... you were in big need of hands to pivot.
