Thanks guys, but my experience of float is that it is hard to control the direction of flight. Float loading produces the snap release. I would have thought a full sweep loading action with a full sweep release is better for direction control. If I am wrong so be it but would love your opinions.
Check your clubface position at top. It is easy to open the clubface when floatloading in the middle of the swing. Watch pp#2,focus on it to start the downswing. Also, when you float load make sure you are swiveling to finish. At the top I have been starting down by feeling pressure at pp#2. I get a great forward leaning clubshaft and if I finish swivel, a nice high draw.

Welcome to the board Monic. Drew really knows his stuff and Im sure he'll have some solid advice for you.
Your question is a very good and specific one and so we must make sure we're taking the same meaning from the same terms.
-Full Sweep Release 10-24-A. A triggering of Release at the beginning of Startdown and normally associated with slow clubhead speeds. Short shots around the green say where you want to throw the ball up high and soft.
I'm guessing but I think you are probably referring to a Random Sweep Release 10-24-B Non Auto or 10-24-C Automatic. There you delay Release to a later point. It can get to be pretty late in fact before you get into Snap territory. Snap is not that common for the average club golfer.
-10-19-B Downstroke (Float) Loading. I used to think this term applied to any form of loading on the downstroke, "downcock" so to speak..........until I was corrected by Lynn recently. Float describes a unique lazy like sensation of a particular type of Downstroke Loading. One where "Assembly , Loading and Release are usually accomplished simultaneously, then with a Flicking action.........." Lynn, I believe, makes a distinction between this type of loading and a Swingers "lashing" quick Startdown that sees some downstroke Loading from End to Top and then a Delayed Release as he Drags it into Snap Release. The former is "lazy" with a near simultaneous load and release the latter is quick and "lash" like. Who knew?
Sorry for this. I think I know where your coming from but we all need be speaking the same language to nail this.
So your Release is late then? First thing to check for is for "free wrist action". Homer like a firm grip and free wrist action. The Hands are Clamps the Wrist are free. Are you trying to "hold on" to the left wrist cock with some tension in the wrists? Tension free the left wrist will uncock perfectly, automatically, law of the flail. This would be an Automatic Release of course with no deliberate Triggering. 10-24-C. You've got a lot of options though on Release Triggers, my personal hobby is trying them all out.
Good luck with it. It might not be the Float that is the problem but rather the Release. Having problems with Snap Release is normally pretty exalted territory. A buddy of mine who is a plus 4, has his battles with it. Distance control problems with half shots etc. He has to really smooth out his loading on certain shots or he gets into trouble. So for him he tries to get less "lashy" and more slow, smooth and heavy........more "floaty" actually. I can only dream of such things, Im Random Sweep myself and trying to Delay more. He's more like Hogan, Im more like Steve Stricker.
