Be very certain of your Angle of Attack. As 6bmike told me when I mentioned my problem, "Hit down without reservation or remorse". I couldn't hit my middle irons any where near as well as my driver-3wd and short irons.
Hitting the short irons was easily explainable because that is how far my swing(Hit) had progresed. I usually use more of a Basic or Acquired Motion from 120 yards to greenside.
It was when I added in the full pivot that things fell apart. ( I betcha 15 minutes with an AI and I could have it straightened out, #$%&).
But that didn't explain the driver-3wd. Video showed me that I was "sweeping" them more than I thought. You can get OK results doing that with the longer shafted clubs, not maximum though. But not driving fully, down, through, and out with a mid iron is deadly.
Two great videos..... just to make sure.
1) the video clip of Homer Kelley. That is Down.
2) "Hitters Row" - with Ted and Lynn. Just a face-on TREMENDOUS video for the Swing and Hit. Notice how quickly Ted goes up the Plane (not fast tempo, that's something different) compared to Lynn. Lynn is almost waist high in the Backstroke (fully tracing the BaseLine for his Swing) before Ted starts back. Yet they get to Top at the same time. Look at Ted's position at Top, everthing about his body says Down. "as the club goes up, so shall it come down".
There is a wealth of knowlege for us neophytes in that video... Suffice to say for now, just be absolutely positively sure you are Hitting down and it is steep enough. It has proven to me, to be the most important vector.
Your quantum field contains all possibilities, you must choose the LBG/TGM one. (Sorry, I had to throw that in)

I'll take some down with an extra helping of down. Good post Theodan.
