Hit balls off the grass and not off the mats and use your irons.

put a tee in the ground about 2-4" in front of your ball and to the outside of it as well. About 10 o'clock going northwest, make sense?

Hit the other tee through impact. If you can do that you aren't chickenwinging plus if you can do this you are learning the down/out at the same time!

As you begin to do this with ease put that tee about 6" away and see try and it hit. If you can do that you'll find out what maximum compression really is.
