It should be exactly at a right angle to the player's plane line, directly across from the ball. There was a fellow that played the Nationwide Tour, and won a tournament, that played the ball forward of the left shoulder(with a driver). His left wrist became the fulcrum... and he was very long, and usually straight. (Rob McKelvey) Also... take a look at Billy Andrade, and Todd Hamilton... not sure, but they may be in similar positions.
