Quick hands for a whiplash type of motion as Homer puts it. I would work on having a hip action that does not re-route the delivery of the hands so the pitch position of the elbow can go deep and the hands can stay Fast. This is done by having remaining in a proper axis tilt from the end of the back stroke through the down stroke. Hula Hula flexibility- the independent movement of shoulders and hips- allows for this.
