Ultra Open at Kingsmill
Spent Saturday out at Kingsmill watching the Michelob Ultra Open. It is always a pleasure to see how well these ladies can play.

I spent quite a while watching Petterson warm up, and she is the real deal. A very solid move, some of the better alignments out there, and a powerful player. Suffice to say, I wasn't suprised to see her win today as well as she was striking it.

A few others that looked in good form, Carin Koch has one of the best motions out there IMO. Well aligned, solid Rhythm, and good compression.

Birdie Kim looked quite good as well. Wonderful extensor action, and outstanding flexibility and balance. A few minor alignment issues at the top, but a great setup compared to most.

I watched Christie Kerr for a while as well, and it was all I could do to not shout out "your plane line is to the left! Hit the inside corner". She kept practicing this takeaway move that was significantly over plane/laid off and her shots reflected it. Nowhere near as good as last years move, where she was dead on perfect with her plane. A few split grip drills and the 'inside corner' and she'd be back on track.

A also enjoyed watching Minea Blomqvist. A solid motion, she's got some great potential. I saw that she was taking it too far inside, not tracing the plane line. It was a fairly empty range, so I decided to demonstrate plane line tracing with my right forearm, using the railing as a guide.

Back and through, back and through. She saw me, called over and said "hey, what's that, that's funny" and gave a little chuckle.

Then proceeded to stripe it down the range about five or six shots in a row with excellent plane line tracing.

Gettin' G.O.L.F. out there any way possible......
