I know there is some teaching out there that advocates golfers to get the elbows close together, as in one of the pictures in Ben Hogan's book. Argh!... The picture you refer too according to my source say's go look at real in action pictures of Hogan. You won't see the same. The spacing between elbows in theory should remain relatively the same. This is accomplished with the use of extensor action. Pointing of the elbows down and elbow pockets up is not how you are going to be at normal impact. Pointing of the elbows to the sides is also not great. When you arms hang normal and the relationship to the wrists hands is what seems to be ideal for the stroke. As for the Forearm the spine relationship, I believe you will find that this is variable depending upon your setup for the plane steepness or flatness as well as if you are a swinger or hitter. Nicklaus was said to have a flying right elbow but it match his storke, where as Hogan's look very much different and match his stroke. __________________ Good Golfing Martee Martee View Public Profile Send a private message to Martee Visit Martee's homepage!
