Since I am a lousy golfer my hitting prosedure is likely to be throwing of the club(face) and hitting at the ball, not driving thru. How do I obtain the right technique so I can start doing this correct (and get the right feeling)? Or is this just another stupid question from an old man, here where the golf season soon is over.

For the record, at Cuscowilla, Air is now Champion Club Thrower of the Year. I didn't step it off, but my guess is the eight-iron flew at least 90 yards.

The club throwing exercise was first popularized by Jack Burke Sr. and is used today by Fred Shoemaker with tremendous success. Shoemaker has the student change there Intention from hitting "at the ball" to "through the ball" with the club throwing exercise. When the Intention of the Mind is move to the Target instead of the Ball, the body reacts differently: No Quitting, Bobbing, Steering and no Over-Acceleration. I use this with my students as well. But, be warned, use old clubs and make sure the practice area is clear when first attempting the club throwing exercise.
