Hookface
It states in 6-B-3-0 that hookface is built into the club.

Could someone tell me what that is and how it is determined.

Thanks. I'll keep looking through the archives also.

I may be wrong on this but I'd say that club makers over the years have built in a prescribed amount of shaft lean into the shorter irons. This is what I take to be hooked face. A driver made to align at low point with an open face would would not have a hooked face by this logic ........ But I may be way off base here not sure.

I'm on the same page O.B. I don't know for certain, but I have come up with the same answer...

Drivers have 3 angles. lie, loft and "hookface". hookface is the closed or open face angle to the target. It may be several degrees. an application is that a several degree hookface is used to help the slicer. This is not an easy specification to find for "off the rack" clubs

Ps. surprised with all the "D" plane discussion that this has not come-up ????

You are certainly correct as to how "Hook-Face" relates to club-fitting... I believe the concept as presented in chapter 2 to relate a little differently in the study of Directional Vectors and the Plane Line. Please see 2-D.

Sorry bout that- I thought the question started at 6-B-3-0.
I was wrong to mention design of the club.
I did forget to mention Hood and layback- or "how to stick the shaft into the hossel"

This hurts my head, I going to take a snooze.
