Wide Elbows or Narrow?
The Right Forearm should be on Plane. This is one one the main concepts of TGM.

This topic concerns the positioning of the elbows. I know there is some teaching out there that advocates golfers to get the elbows close together, as in one of the pictures in Ben Hogan's book.

I believe there are some people that can TRY to do this and still be in a good position, because they are not flexible enough to over do this.
Some people, however can get the elbows very close together, and if they do so enough they are actually in a weak position, and the right arm in in a less than ideal position at Address, Top, and Impact.

In the pictures in Chapter 8 and 9, the elbows are not close together. In 9-2-5 there is considerable space. At the TOP in Chapter 10-6, the right elbow appears wide, and looks to be at about a 45 degree angle, like a "strut", or bridge support.

Now... in Chapter 10-3 dealing with Elbow Positions. With Punch, the elbow still looks wide, as at Address, and the Top.

With Pitch 10-3-B... do you think the width between the Elbows is still the same as at the TOP, and the elbow has just moved in front of the hip, or has the distance between the elbows become closer?
